Kim Hedås + Monica Åslund Forsén

As part of the KMH showcase at the Norberg Festival 2024, Kim Hedås and Monica Åslund Forsén will present an excerpt from their latest composition, Tir, which combines dance and electroacoustic music.

Kim Hedås and Monica Åslund Forsén have previously collaborated in performances such as IRATA (performed at KMH and Design Center Stockholm), Good Night, Mr Moon (Moderna Museet in Stockholm), Tiara (Atalante in Gothenburg) and O (Kulturhuset in Stockholm). Kim Hedås is a composer of orchestral, vocal, chamber, and electroacoustic music. Her compositions have been commissioned and performed by prominent ensembles and orchestras in Sweden and abroad. Hedås frequently collaborates with other artists working in the fields of theatre, art, film, dance, and architecture. Her work also includes large-scale, site-specific music installations.

In recent years, her compositions have been performed internationally at the Ars Electronica Festival, the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, and in Italy, France, Germany, Wales, England, Iceland, Finland and China. In Sweden, her compositions have been performed at a number of festivals and venues, including Sound of Stockholm, Båstad Chamber Music Festival, Svensk Musikvår, Berwaldhallen, Konserthuset in Stockholm, Göteborgs Konserthus, Moderna Museet, Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, Musikaliska, Audiorama, NorrlandsOperan, Göteborgsoperan, Acusticum, Färgfabriken, Kivik Art Centre, Teater Galeasen and Dramaten.

Monica Åslund Forsén is a dancer and choreographer who explores the musical body and its performative expression. She worked for several years as a percussionist in the world music group Anitas Livs, which toured throughout Europe, and was also a member of the performance group Notre Dame. She has a diploma in eurythmics from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm (KMH), and has taught movement and improvisation at both KMH and the University of Dance and Circus (DOCH). Since 2017, she has led the education unit at the Swedish Museum of Performing Arts (Scenkonstmuseet in Stockholm).
