East Sequence II for 4-ch. tape

This work is based on Korean traditional Muul Nongak, which is the traditional community band music in Korea. Repeated patterns from the percussion instruments of the Korean traditional music show the Oriental characteristics and explain the title of this piece. This kind of traditional Korean farm music include all aspect of the feeling of human being such as happiness, sadness, and anxiety rather than the meaning of sentimental music itself.

Bumki Kim earned his doctoral and master’s degree in composition at Indiana University in Bloomington and his bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University. He is now an assistant professor of music education department at Gyeongsang National University.¬†
