Hi Mary the shapeshifters are here
As part of Material Fatigue, Kasia Wolinska presents Hi Mary the shapeshifters are here in collaboration with Ashiq Khondker. When looking at wild animals, the experience of ”waiting for” and ”looking at”, the body in suspension wants to come closer, temporarily inhabiting the space of the imagined wild life. This is a set of joint forces of exploring what being together in waiting is, and how the non-verbal companionship works when we negotiate where to look and where to go next.
Since January 2013, Kasia Wolinska been developing her practice Hi Mary – a compilation of practices allowing the body to experience its peripheries, be they individual and collective. In such an entanglement, the notion of separation might be erased. Hi Mary has been presented in Berlin, Gdańsk, Łódź, Warsaw, Kalisz, Copenhagen and Amsterdam. Kasia Wolinska has been a Centro Selva resident in 2014 and Transeuropan Festival in 2015 and in 2016 she was a part of the Global Practice Sharing Program (Movement Research / Art Stations Foundation) in New York.
