gi

gi is a musician from Gadi (Sydney) mapping the grey zones between IDM, techno and ambient via exploratory sound design and asynchronous rhythmic programming. Her music is intricate, combining complex, shifting patterns with an affinity for blown-out, feedbacking and electroacoustic tonalities reflecting her roots in the punk scene. In 2024, gi presented her debut album on Absorb and launched the World of Knots label, while continuing to refine her style of warehouse oriented experimentalism.

As dusk falls at 303, gi will take us on a mind-bending journey far into the night across broken and steady beats. Dance-oriented rhythms weave in and out of time, are bent and then snapped back into grid, and surrounded by textual layers of drone and noise to create something unfamiliar yet familiar to get lost in.
