Hüma Utku
Hailing from Istanbul, Hüma Utku is a composer and sound artist weaving raw sonic textures, analog synthesisers and atmospheric ambience into harmonized noise and ritualistic rhythms, inspired by the human condition and the balance of dualities. Her latest album Dracones (2025) deals with the profound experience of becoming a mother, exploring themes of familial demonology, metamorphosis and homecoming as well as the human relationship to love woven by layers of euphoria, alienation and consumption.
At Norbergfestival, Hüma Utku will present a unique rendition of Dracones inside of Mimerlaven’s acoustic environment that stretches from the gnarly, dark and deep to the brightest most euphoric layers of sonic expression. The result is a cinematic journey through inner and outer worlds, between haunting tension and cathartic release, where symbolic evocation reigns supreme and passive listening is not an option.
