LTU Showcase 2x3=5

Kraftcentralen

From the School of Music in Piteå at Luleå University of Technology comes a selection of musicians, composers and researchers presenting a concert of acoustic instruments and live electronics inside of Norberg’s Church - together in symbiosis, differences and contrasts.

Scattered around the country of Sweden, they will bring some parts of the cold dark Norrbotten winter together with the sunny Piteå summer in their music.

Vad är det som lämnar mig som vilsna undulater i nattmörkret?

Using sampled and AI-generated voices, Magnus Bunnskog puts his own live reading in

dialogue with Stefan Östersjö's acoustic guitar improvisations in this theatrical piece of live electronics and sound art.

“Lördagskväll’ - Generative music for flute and computer

Ann Elkjär plays the flute together with David Engströms live electronic system featuring recorded phrases by poet Bengt Berg's poem “Lördagskväll”.

This performance is a presentation of an ongoing collaborative artistic research project, situated at the intersection of generative music, poetry, and musical performance. The project explores how a reading of a poem can function as a basis for composition and can reshape improvisation, interpretation and performer agency.

Pipe organ as a live electronic instrument

Marcus Wrangö explores how the church pipe organ can be thought of as a synthesizer, and performs slowly on the organ together with modular and additive synthesisers.
