Tamara AlegrePerformance

Tamara Alegre (she/they) works with dance and choreography. Born in Gran Canaria, she studied European Business and Psychology and worked as an underground music curator, dj and tour manager until 2016. Their research revolves around sensual embodiments, fictions on sexuality/sexual organs and liminal physical states as choreographic tools. Structurally, she/they aims for change in the European field of dance, which is still very white/male in Europe today – a cause that is only possible in close alliance and thanks to the contributions of her collaborators and friends.

nxs fuimxs
in slang nos fuimos is an expression which announces that the departure has already started or that we have gone beyond. here, it is the result of a radical fictionalisation of bodies. imagine: one and the same channel connects all the vital functions related to the lower abdomen and the cloaca, the sexual organ from which the erotic force is drawn. provided with these body-fictions, the dances are embodied experiments around the sexual organs, the idea of erotic togetherness, the cohabitation of complex emotions, self-pleasure and figures such as warriors and gargoyles. the performance is becoming a purge, a cleansing and a space of mutual support. nxs fuimxs opens a liminal space-time where connection and contamination triumphs through vibrations, wind and emotions.

Presented in collaboration with My Wild Flag
My Wild Flag is an international dance and performance festival in Stockholm. Consisting of local and international acts and scenarios that propose contemporary choreographic and artistic work. Bringing communities together, adding a DIY-spirit and joining in social choreographies as well as works devoted to the stage. The festival is initiated by Karina Sarkissova and Pontus Pettersson, who lacked a queer platform for dance and performance. Since 2017, MWFs intention is to affect the Stockholm scene in a long-term perspective regarding discourse, representation and expanded notions of choreography. MWF joins forces with Norbergsfestival 2022 and proposes a shared curatorial perspective at Risbergs Verkstad.
