Trio Ramberget

Trio Ramberget – consisting of Gustav Davidsson on trombone, Johanna Ekholm on double bass and Pelle Westlin on bass clarinet – moves in the borderland between ambient and free improvisation. Their acoustic sound is explorative yet confident, revealing remarkable musical depth, and has resonated internationally through performances and collaborations for film, dance and documentaries. In 2025, they composed the score for Simón Mesa Sotos’ feature film Un Poeta, which won the Jury Prize in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.

Having been on the festival’s radar ever since their release of Mirror Variations, we are excited to finally welcome Trio Ramberget to Norbergfestival this summer. Their approach to drony ambient music combined with freeform jazz instrumentation feels particularly unique in a Scandinavian context. Expect an intimate performance by the trio in Mimerlaven, bringing a sound that hasn’t had much representation at the festival before, yet one that resonates perfectly with that particular immersive atmosphere.
