
Bissan Edwan
Bissan Adwan is a Palestinian writer and journalist from the occupied city of Ashkelon, raised in the Rafah refugee camp in Gaza. She holds a degree in Humanities (History and Civilization) from Al-Azhar University in Cairo and has worked in Gaza and Cairo as a journalist, researcher, publisher, and author. Her work, published in leading Arab newspapers, focuses on exile, memory, cultural identity, and the Palestinian struggle. She is the former director of Ibn Rushd Publishing House (2013–2022) and the author of several books, including Letters from the Diaspora and Fukuyama’s Fall in Gaza. She is currently an ICORN guest writer in Lund, Sweden (2024–2026), and a member of PEN International and the Swedish Writers’ Union.
