NORTHERN SÁMI BELOW

Viktor Bomstad is a traditional joiker and experimental guitarist from northern Sápmi/Norway. With a passion for exploring diverse musical traditions, Viktor pushes the boundaries of how joik can sound in new contexts and sonic landscapes. His music is gritty, slow-churning, and trance-like, with a strong emphasis on improvisation. Expect distorted guitars, rumbling synths, fragmentary joik — and quite possibly the sense of being on a collective intergalactic journey.

A regular presence on the Norwegian experimental scene, Viktor performs both solo and in a variety of collaborative projects. In 2022, he released his debut solo album, Sámi Noise, on Nice Things Records. His band, Sex Magick Wizards,has developed a cult following in psychedelic rock circles across Norway and Germany, with their third album, Death Grip, released in 2024.
