Brenda El Rayes

Brenda El Rayes is a Stockholm-based electroacoustic composer and sound artist working across performance, installation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her practice moves between stage, gallery, and public space, often creating immersive, durational sound environments that invite deep and active listening. 

Rooted in a dialogue between Western experimental music, rave culture, and Middle Eastern sonic traditions, her work explores music’s capacity to induce altered states—whether in sacred rituals or on the dancefloor. She is particularly interested in collective and individual experiences of trance, devotion and resonance.

Brenda El Rayes will present a special live set inside Kraftcentralen that incorporates recordings of poetry by Gaza poet Nima Hasan. The performance is part of this year's Lyrik i samklang: Palestine-Lebanon-Sweden, exploring the relation between voices and expression from Palestine, Lebanon and the Palestinian and Lebanese diaspora.
